Triangle Shape Worksheet for Kids
A triangle is a shape with 3 straight sides and 3 pointy corners. The word tri means three, so a triangle always has three of everything. Some triangles stand tall and pointed, while others are wide and low, but they all share those same three sides and three corners.
When children aged 2 to 7 trace a triangle, they learn to draw slanted lines and turn sharply at each corner. This is brilliant for fine motor skills and for understanding angles, an important early step in maths and geometry.
Triangles are easy to find once you start looking. A slice of pizza, a mountain peak, the roof of a house, a fluttering flag, a crispy samosa and a grassy hill all show off the triangle shape. Pointing them out together makes learning the shape tasty and fun.
