Number Tracing Worksheet

Number 12 (Twelve) Tracing Worksheet for Kids

The number 12 brings together two shapes your child already knows: a straight 1 followed by a curvy 2. Because they have practised both, writing twelve feels like putting together familiar puzzle pieces. A nice saying is 'a 1 and a 2 make a dozen for you'. This combining of known shapes builds real writing confidence.

Counting to twelve introduces a special and useful idea: the dozen. Eggs come in twelves, and so do many other everyday things, which makes twelve a wonderfully practical number to know. We use twelve apples, twelve eggs, and twelve crayons so your child can count a meaningful, real-world group and feel its usefulness.

For children aged 2 to 7, twelve is a chance to strengthen teen counting and to start noticing how numbers appear in daily life. Counting twelve is also a lovely way to practise grouping, perhaps as ten and two more, or as two rows of six. As your little learner traces the two digits and counts twelve cheerful pictures, their number sense and counting stamina grow together. Keep the practice playful and point out dozens at the shop. Every careful count of twelve deepens your child's confidence and shows them that maths is part of the world all around them.
